Agricultural warning for wheat

20/04/2018In a Technical Bulletin issued by the Regional Center for the Protection of Plants, Quality and Plant Nutrition of Volos, wheat is reported that from field inspections on wheat crops in the prefectures of Magnesia and Larissa, as well as from sample tests submitted to the Service, mixed infections have been reported from Stenosis (Septoria spp.) And Odium (Erysiphe graminis f.sp. tritici).

Symptoms are locally intense, especially in unspoiled fields and in areas where cereal monoculture is commonplace. In many cases the insults have reached the leaf a flag, the destruction of which affects not only the quantitative but also the quality of the grain.

Producers should visit and observe their properties, as plantations often look healthy, but if one notices the plants will find they are infected.

In the event of a severe infection, spraying is recommended with an authorized fungicide. The decision to spraying should always be taken in cooperation with the local agronomists.
